Kappa 1990: Barbara R. Maroney, who worked for the City of Providence, passed away on July 7, 2008. She was the companion of Samuel Limiadi, Xi 1994. - 7/15/08
Lambda 1991: Herbert Kaplan, a philanthropist who founded the New England Amateur Skating Foundation, passed away in June. - 7/15/08

Epsilon 1985: At Rhode Island College's Alumni Awards & Honor Roll this month, Karen Davie received the Charles B. Willard Achievement Award. She is Vice President of Philanthropy at Women & Infants Hospital. - 5/29/08

Iota 1989: Michael Gerhardt has been appointed Interim Executive Director of Save The Bay. - 7/15/08
Bill Falcone is the new Tennis Information Director for the RI Tennis League and Clay Court Tennis Coordinator at the Newport Navy Base, both volunteer positions. He is still writing Op. Ed.s on water supply published throughout Rhode Island. - 7/15/08

Nu 1993: Jane Hayward has been named President and CEO of the RI Health Center Association, a trade organization that provides management services and advocacy for 12 member health centers. - 5/29/08
Xi 1994: Jose Gonzalez, Ed.D., was honored with the Cezar Chavez Award by CHisPA at their 6th annual breakfast earlier this month.- 5/29/08
Omicron 1995: Patricia Martinez recently joined the Board of Directors
of The Genesis Center, where Pheamo R. Witcher (Sigma '98) serves as Executive Director and Mike Ritz (Gamma II '07) runs Development. Patricia Martinez is the Director of the RI Department of Children, Youth & Families.- 7/15/08
Pi 1996: Rhode Island Commission on Women announced Joyce Dolbec will be honored as a 2008 Woman of the Year at an October 16th dinner. - 7/15/08
Tau 1999: Ann Spaulding writes: "Have been here in Atlanta for past 7 years. Still involved in promoting the health needs of prisoners but as a faculty member of a school of public health, rather than as ACI medical director." - 5/29/08
At CHisPA's 6th annual breakfast this month, Angel Taveras, Esq. was honored with the Juanita Sanchez Award. - 5/29/08
Upsilon 2000: On June 26, the Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America will honor John Treanor, President & COO of Washington Trust with a 2008 Senator John H. Chafee Distinguished Citizens Award. - 5/29/08
At this month's Salute to Small Business Awards, the US Small Business Administration honored Cheryl Snead's company, Banneker Industries, as National Subcontractor of the Year. - 5/29/08
Alpha II 2005: Leigh Woisard has been promoted to VP of Public & Government Affairs for Cox Hampton Roads. - 5/29/08
Beverly Larson reports that she began a new position at Brown University on July 1. She serves as Director of Communications for the Graduate School. She was previously Executive Director of the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship and a consultant. - 7/15/08
Beta II 2006: Kathi Crowe has been named Executive Director of the National Foster Care Coalition (NFCC) in Washington, DC, whose Board of Directors appointed Crowe after a national search. She previously chaired NFCC's board and worked for the RI Department of Children, Youth & Families. - 7/15/08
Monica Cummings has taken a new position as Communications Manager at Cox Communications. - 5/29/08
Gamma II 2007: Michael Fantom recently ran in the Boston Marathon, finishing in 4 1/2 hours (approx. 10 1/2 minutes per mile). - 5/29/08
Amy Quinn has been promoted to Public Relations Director at Cox Communications. - 5/29/08

Eta 1987: On May 10, Sandra DelSesto will be honored with an Independent Man Award from The Genesis Center for her assistance in obtaining funding and aiding in staff professional development while serving as a board member for 13 years. - 4/9/08
Iota 1989: Judy Jones has retired after almost 18 years as Government Affairs Liaison at Rhode Island Housing. She is currently working as a part-time consultant to the Poverty Institute and remains on the Board of Directors of the Statewide Housing Action Coalition. - 2/13/08
Sigma 1998: On May 10, Serena Conley will be honored with an Independent Man Award from The Genesis Center for her role and achievements as Board Chair. - 4/9/08
During Small Business Week, May 19-23, Denise Barge will be honored by the US Small Business Administration and SCORE, Counselors to America's Small Business, RI chapter. She is being recognized as the Women in Business Champion of the Year.- 4/9/08
Laura DiSano connected with LRI from her new home in Aiken, SC. These days, Laura writes for www.credittoday.com, consults for non- profits and small businesses, and works part-time in a beautiful kitchen shop. She wants to connect with friends, including her friends in the Sigma Class. - 2/13/08
Upsilon 2000: In January 2008, John Kelly, CEO of Meeting Street, was profiled in Providence Monthly as one of the "Ten People You Don't Know Now (But Soon Will)." - 3/11/08
Omega 2004: Jodi Glass, Doctor of Audiology, has expanded her audiology practice and now dispenses hearing aids. Her services are now available throughout the state.- 1/17/08
Alpha II 2005: Alan Neville has been named executive vice president at United Way of Rhode Island. Previously he was vice president of marketing and development at Crossroads Rhode Island.- 1/24/08
Beacon Mutual Insurance Company announced the promotion of Pam Alarie to President, Human Resources. Pam has been with Beacon since 2002 as Director of Human Resources.- 3/28/08
Beta II 2006: Kristen Lyons has been named Executive Director of the Women's Center of Rhode Island, where she has been Associate Director for the past two years. - 2/13/08
The finance firm of Lefkowitz, Garfinkel, Champi & DeRienzo PC has announced Lynn O'Marra's recent promotion to Tax Principal. She has been with the firm over 14 years. - 3/11/08
Gamma II 2007: Laura Bottaro gave birth on Sunday, January 20 to Mia Grace Bottaro, 7 lbs, 1 oz. - 2/13/08
Some job changes for Gamma IIs: Ed Mastriano has started a new position at Cox Media. Linda DiPalma recently started at March of Dimes. Anthony DiPietro has been promoted to Director of Communications at Leadership Rhode Island. - 2/13/08
Luciano Cozzi reports that he is returning part-time to his commercial photography business, producing event and commercial videos, including weddings, advertising, documentary, training video, etc. - 2/13/08
Sixcia Devine of the RI Small Business Development Center at Johnson & Wales University received an Extraordinary Woman Award on March 8, 2008. - 3/11/08
Dede McGuire reports: I have taken a position as a clinical nurse at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, working on a medically complex telemetry unit. I choose to work part-time so I can spend more time with my family and grandchildren. Also, my husband and I are re-building our 40-foot sailboat, and plan to pursue a lifelong dream, to sail our boat to the US Virgin Islands and live there for at least 6 months. Life is good! - 3/11/08
In the January issue of Providence Monthly, Mike Ritz of the Genesis Center, a member of the Gamma II Class and LRI Board of Governors, was named among "15 to Watch" in the capitol city. - 3/11/08

CLRI '04: Suzy Alba reports recent TV appearances to promote East Bay Coalition for the Homeless, where she is Board Chair. Suzy has appeared on "Wicked Late" with Brendan Kirby, as well as the "Jim Vincent Show." - 2/13/08
