If you have encountered someone in your career, volunteer service, or neighborhood who is a leader and would be interested in the Core Program, use the form below to nominate an individual to apply. LRI staff will follow up with nominees to offer them information, answer questions, and invite them to recruitment events throughout the year.

The Qualities of Core Program Applicants

When thinking about possible candidates for Leadership Rhode Island, keep in mind this list of qualities we seek in successful applicants:

A passion for the people and future of our state coupled with a personal commitment to help shape that future.
A demonstrated commitment to the community through past and present activities.
A demonstrated capacity for leadership within their own organizations through significant achievements.
At least one year residence in Rhode Island or with current employer in Rhode Island.
A desire to enhance their leadership capabilities.
A willingness to commit the time and energy necessary to complete the program requirements and full support of their employer to commit the time needed.
A commitment to supporting continuation of leadership and trustee development for our state.

Leadership Rhode Island also seeks a class that is reflective of the cultural diversity of Rhode Island, and we seek a variety of viewpoints, industries and sectors, age and experiences, and representation from every region of the state.
